Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 depending on skills and experience. 

About the role

We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our skilled engineering team, delivering smoke and comfort ventilation systems across Scotland. You’ll be responsible for installation support, commissioning, servicing, diagnostics, and repair works—ensuring all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to compliance standards.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical ability, experience in life-safety or building services systems, and the ambition to develop into a sector specialist.

We're looking for someone with

  • Experience commissioning, installing, servicing, or diagnosing life-safety systems – smoke vents, fire alarms, access control, or similar.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply industry regulations.
  • Understanding of BS 7346-8 and a willingness to expand knowledge.
  • Practical, hands-on ability and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A clean, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Scotland (minimal overnight stays).
  • Valid CSCS or ECS card (or relevant qualifications that allow you to obtain one).
  • Eligibility to join the PVG scheme, as some work involves sites with children and vulnerable adults.
